Rumors of a high-performance version of the Jaguar XE variant divulged as soon as it was launched back in 2015. Jaguar has pulled over the swathe from its most robust car in history, the XE SV Project 8. From its first look, one can notice that a lot of improvements have been made mostly in terms of its strength and speed. The limited run version has already marked its inception at the Goodwood Festival of Speed,2017. It shows off fenders teased out wide over gumball tires. The rear wing is obtained from a small plane. When you fire it up it sounds like an earthquake, which is awesome. The 2018 Jaguar XE SV Project 8 is a beast. The company has planned to limit the production strictly to 300 cars worldwide. The Special Vehicle Operations (SVO) will itself manage the production and each and every car will be assembled by hand at the SVO Technical Center in Warwickshire, England.
In terms of look, the car looks ravishing. Almost everything has been changed and hardly any standard XE’s parts have been carried over. In terms of the exterior looks, only the bonnet and roof are the same, other than that everything has received a makeover. This is undoubtedly the most power packed and extreme performance Jaguar vehicle ever. Customers will get an option to choose from the two seaters, track oriented version and the four seaters, road biased version.
2018 JAGUAR XE SV PROJECT 8 EXTERIORS:
The exteriors of this beast are such that they will surely steal your heart. The design is quite amazing and catches the attention of the viewers. It looks like a beefed up version of the standard XE variant. All the additions made to the exterior of this car are made up of carbon fiber which has made it the lighest vehicle in the Jaguar range to get a V8 engine.
A bigger carbon bumper has been provided on the front side of the car with amplified cooling ducts. The bonnet of the Project 8 has also received a makeover and has vented ducts on it.
The side look has been made better with the presence of bigger 20-inch alloy wheels.
The rear side has also received a boost and look well as it gets a rear diffuser, Carbon Fibre Bumper, adjustable rear aerodynamic wing which gives it the perfect looks. The car finally weighs around 3847 pounds.
2018 JAGUAR XE SV PROJECT 8 INTERIOR:
The Project 8 is built with only the left drive configuration. The interior is well-designed and both the variants available provide a racing instinct to the cabin. It is the first time that a gearshift lever has been included in a Jaguar. The interiors are one to die for. The company will be providing customization offers to the buyers. The interiors of the car are quite sleek. It also gets silicon nitride ceramic breaks. It is made sure that all the usual luxuries are provided to the customer. Project 8 is loaded with the top quality 12.3 TFT instrument panel along with the standard audio system.
The rear seats in the four-seater variant are only for two people. The soft-touch black Alcantara covers the dashboard.
2018 JAGUAR XE SV PROJECT 8 ENGINE:
All the speed freaks out there are going to love this car. When we talk about the engine that is placed under the hood of this beast it is a 5.0 litre supercharged V8 designed by Ian Callum especially for Jaguar, which produces about 600 Ps of power and 700 Nm of torque. The engine is clubbed to an eight-speed Quickshift. The sedan is capable of reaching the 0-100 km/h mark in 3.7 seconds which makes it the fastest Jaguar ever. The top speed that it can obtain is 322 km/h. What makes it even better is that Jaguar claims that it can change gears in 0.2 seconds. It comes with an all-wheel driving system. The cooling mechanism has been further modified for better endurance in the hot climate and harsh track conditions.
It is a delight for all the car lover. Although the real focus has been on power, still nothing has been compromised in obtaining that goal. The SE XV Project 8 will be available only in the British market and as the production is strictly limited to 300 only few will get the luxury to drive this beauty. The price of the car is yet not disclosed although it isn’t going to be cheap. According to Ian Callum, Jaguar design director, Project 8 is a performance driven car and believes that it is the most extreme vehicle they have ever created. Overall the 2018 Jaguar XE SV Project 8 is a powerful looking and a very fast sedan. In is the fastest and the most powerful Jaguar saloon ever.
