The third generation Touareg from the Volkswagen will be launched in Europe in late 2017 most probably before arriving in US at some point of time in 2018 as a 2019 model. It is expected to house a V6 Engine which is now taken as standard in the United States. This will be paired with 8 speed automatic transmission and all wheel drive. The 2019 Volkswagen Touareg will also offer an option of a plug in hybrid engine. It will be launched in three editions, namely, the Sports, the Wolfsburg, and the Executive.

The car will remain a 5 seater, thus, having a respective length of less than 200 inches. The wheelbase will be shorter than the Audi’s because the 2019 model will not have the third row of sitting just like its previous generations. The sports model will have an 18 inch alloy wheel, the Wolfsburg will sport a 20 inch alloy wheel and the Exec will be having a 21 inch alloy wheel. It is expected to adopt a wider more dynamic look than the ongoing model. The components being used to build the body are expected to keep the car weight lighter. However, it is considered to be longer, slightly wider and minutely lower than the second generation Touareg currently in the market. This will help the car to impress the buyers with a quiet and smooth ride on the highways and composed stability while taking turns. The 2019 model will have automatic and adaptive bi-xenon headlights, foglights, LED running lights and taillights, automatic wipers, a hands-free power liftgate, etc. There are claims that the 2019 Volkswagen Touareg can tow upto 7,716 pounds when properly equipped, which will be a unique capacity in comparison to its rivals.
